My Teaching Philosophy
To put it simply, I love teaching!  My philosophy as a teacher is to nurture the art of music by providing a well-rounded curriculum encompassing a broad range of musicianship skills.  I
believe that a high level of musicality is achieved by focusing on the process.  This process-
oriented approach helps the student to discover personal rewards in musical study, find
enjoyment in music-making, feel confident of his/her ability to learn and to feel that the effort
invested into piano studies is a worthwhile endeavor.  The study of piano is a rewarding
experience and is important for developing a student’s gifts/talents as a vital part of investing
in their future.

My Teaching Style and Method
Weekly piano lessons incorporate the learning of new material, sight-reading, musical
statement and piano technique.  Beginning to Intermediate students use the acclaimed
Faber
& Faber  Piano Adventure series.  Late-Intermediate to Advanced students are individually
assessed in theory and technical skills.  From this assessment, each student is provided
with repertoire selected to build on their strengths and challenge their weaknesses.
Repertoire ranges from the Baroque to Contemporary styles and is chosen by both the
student and instructor.
A Special Note to Parents...
I would like to thank you for making the choice of pursuing piano lessons for your child.  Choosing a teacher that works well with
you and especially with your child is vital.  Please remember this is an investment in the life and future of your child.  I would like to
encourage you to make a well thought out decision.  Children acquire much more than musical aptitudes in lessons and it is my
goal to ensure that I address these as well as the many skills gained in musical study.

Please read my studio policy, philosophy and application to see if it is compatible with your desires in a musical education for
your child.

Although the studio is usually full, I will always try to make room for new students.   Please contact the studio at 602-332-4627 or
babygrand88@yahoo.com for available dates and times.  I would be happy to set up an interview to determine whether or not the
studio will meet your needs.  I am looking forward to meeting you!
