ASP Practice/Level Requirements

Annual Fees

Fees are required and non-refundable.

Enrollment/Studio Fees: $50/year due September 1st

Program Requirements

Three areas are tested – Theory, Technique & Performance

Theory: Written Theory Test will be based on the workbook.
Technique: Different technique skills will be assessed in the evaluation.
Performance:
- Category A – 4 pieces with at least 2 or more memorized (honors ribbon available for those who memorize all 4 and receive a rating of Superior or Excellent)
- Category B – 2 or 3 pieces, 1 or more memorized

Studio Recital Expectations

The Winter/Spring/ASP Recital/Honors Recital will be required for students participating in the Arizona Study Program. Pieces for the Spring & Honors Recital will double as pieces for the Evaluation in the Spring.

Important Dates & Deadlines

In-Studio assessments for theory and technique – Immediate

Enrollment deadline – September 1st

Repertoire selection for the year – September 1st

Who should participate?

This program was designed for students of all levels. Many teachers don’t begin teaching a student until they are in second grade and this program seems to be based around that idea. I believe some of my younger students could participate – we would just have to discuss the details. I need to reiterate that the weekly practicing above is absolutely required. Some students may need to increase their lesson time (should be a minimum 45m for those enrolled) and we can discuss what options are available.
